Lamp, you're probably the most prominent boomkin I know of (and from the forums, seem like a decent guy).
Any tips on damage rotation for an up-and-coming boomkin? (Level 63, currently)
At the moment, I've got a ISx1, Wx6 macro for pew pew, what are your thoughts on that vs a ISx1, SFx3 macro? And what about moonfire? Is it worth the mana and GCD?
Most of the places I've looked (elitist jerks, druid forums) have a ton of info on gear (seems like pretty typical caster gear advice), but the info on casting rotations is a bit slim.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey,
Well, the typical rotation for moonkins in a raid environment is actually making use of only Moonfire and Starfire. For leveling however, Wrath is a nice spell mainly because of the pushback talents you get, whereas Starfire has none. If you are just strictly DPS'ing, in a dungeon say, I would use:
MFx1, SFx3-4
It really depends on how many times you crit as to how many Starfires you can fit in. Also remember that in most raids you'll be expected to keep up Improved Faerie Fire for the 3% physical hit. That is basically it for the raid end, and as I said, for solo'ing you can really use your abilities freely - Wrath if you have mobs whacking on you, Starfire if the mob is being tanked. Apply DoT's as you see fit.
Oh and as for Insect Swarm, don't use it if you don't have to. The -chance to hit is decent, but the damage scales terribly. |
